7. We don't have to choose love and kindness.
Have you ever asked someone if they had to choose one of these words to model their life by, if they would choose kindness, or evil? What I'm trying to point out by that sentence is that we choose kindness and evil on a day to day basis. We have the choice to be kind, and we have the choice to be evil, or mean.
I love the quote by Dr. Wayne D. Dyer that says, "When given the choice between being right or being kind, choose kind." I feel like we can learn a lot from this quote because we often have a difficult time controlling our emotions. (Before I get too far into my explanation, remember you are one of a kind because you have a choice, and that choice could be good or bad. I will always advise you to choose the good choice, and not the bad one.)
Seriously, I know I'm not the only one who gets angry over the dumbest reasons. Sometimes, we just need to take deep breath, let it out, and remind ourselves that some things aren't a big deal. We don't always have to be so angry and mad over the smallest things.
I want you to always remember that you have a choice, and your choice can lead you down a path that is good and kind, or it can lead you down a path that is the exact opposite.
My main reason for this post is to remind you that God gave you a choice. He didn't create you then say, "There, you're alive, now you need to do everything I tell you right now or I'll kill you." (Ooh that was a harsh sentence.) But, God didn't tell us that! He gave us a choice. He wants us to choose our path. He loves us so much that He wants to give us a choice. He isn't forcing us into anything.
Sometimes, sin can lead us the wrong way, and even though we do have choices, sometimes we need to watch what we are doing. We need to stop, and find the right path. God's path is always the right path.
So, amidst your every day decisions, think about how you can choose the right choice. Think about how you can avoid a heated argument, and just say, "Yes, ma'am," or "Yes sir," and let it go. Agree to disagree.
Overall, remember you are one of a kind because God created you, you are unique, Jesus died for you, you have a choice, you can choose your thoughts/ideas, we are human, and we don't have to choose kindness (but it's important that we do).
Thank you for reading part seven of the "one of a kind" series! I plan on posting part eight on Saturday! (Oh, and I'm working on my bullet journal spread still. I'm sorry it's taking me so long to finish lol.)
One last thing, new podcast episode is out today! I'm super excited because I recorded my second guest episode with my good friend, Hannah Grace. She had some remarkable things to share, and we had such a good conversation!
