every book I read in September

I'm so surprised that it is already October, but I'm very happy about it!! The closer we get to the end of the year is the closer we get to my book coming out and I'm SOOO EXCITED!!!!!

Anyway, today's post is about all the books I read this month. If you want to keep up with what I read in case you need some good book recommendations, I do this kind of post at the end of each month. You can find what I read from previous months here: https://miribrooks1.wixsite.com/quoted/my-blog/categories/everybookireadthismonth

1. Island of Lost Girls: by Jennifer McMahon- finished September 7th

2. The Host: by Stephanie Meyer- finished September 20th

3. Jeremy Fink and the Meaning of Life: by Wendy Mass- finished September 27th

4. Survive the Night: by Riley Sager: finished September 30th

I love all the books I read this month so much! Instead of picking only one favorite, I'm going to rank them. So, these are my favorites from one to five. I'm also going to try to give a little summary of each book.

Starting at number four is probably Island of Lost Girls. This was a good book with a good plot, but when I first bought it from Goodwill, I thought it was more of a teen book, but it ended up having adults in it. There was also a good bit of cursing in it. I still recommend it if you want a good mystery to keep you on your feet. I was shocked when the mystery was finally solved. It's like one of those instances when the answer is right in front of you and you don't know it.

Short summary: While parked at a gas station, Rhonda sees something so incongruously surreal that at first she hardly recognizes it as a crime in progress. She watches, unmoving, as someone dressed in a rabbit costume kidnaps a young girl. Devastated over having done nothing, Rhonda joins the investigation...

At number three is Survive the Night by Riley Sager. So, I got this book off of the book of the month website. I was having a hard time finding a book on the website that wasn't an adult book, but I wanted to get a book for $9.99 instead of like $15.99. Anyway, I found this book, and I was really surprised. The plot was so well written and I have no other words!! Riley Sager is such a good writer and this was my first book I've ever read from her!! Like, I struggle writing fiction books because it's hard to make a good plot and develop it. But this book. WAS. AMAZING. Please go read it if you're into mysteries!! (Quick note: If you're going to read this book just know that the serial killer probably is not who you think it is. 🙂)

Short summary: Charlie Jordan is being driven across the country by a serial killer. Maybe. Behind the wheel is Josh Baxter, a stranger Charlie met by the college ride share board, who also has a good reason for leaving university in the middle of term...

My second favorite book from this month was 100% Jeremy Fink and the Meaning of Life. This was such a heartwarming book! I really love Wendy Mass' books. I read A Mango Shaped Space like a year ago and loved it. I highly recommend this book!! It's such a good one! (I just realized there's a movie from 2011 lol)

Short summary: The story follows twelve-year-old Jeremy Fink and his neighbor Lizzy Muldoun as they attempt to retrieve four keys that unlock a wooden box delivered one month before Jeremy's 13th birthday.

Okay, so if you don't read any of the other books from this post, you should read The Host by Stephanie Meyer. There is also a movie, and it was really good! I am very happy that I read this book!!

Short summary: The Host is a science fiction romance novel by Stephenie Meyer. The book is about Earth, in a postapocalyptic time, being invaded by a parasitic alien race known as "Souls", and follows one Soul's predicament when the consciousness of her human host refuses to give up her body.

Overall, all of the books above were really good! I hope you enjoyed today's blog post and will come back Tuesday for the Halley's Comet piano cover. Have a great day! ~Ella
