when you take one step forward for God, but three steps back for the world

Hey, and welcome to or back to my blog! Quick reminder: this is a whole series. This series will have eleven parts all based off the SOUR album, but I also plan on writing more of this series based off of another album. Check back every Thursday for a new part to this series!! There are already three parts out if you want to go check them out!! (It's super easy because there a category at the end of this blog post and on the home page of my blog named: SOUR series.) Now let's just hop into today's blog post!

When you take one step forward for God, but three steps back for the world...Honestly, I think we all do this. We say we're going to spend more time with God, we even buy cute journals and pens to do it, but then after one week, we're back to living our lives without Him.

It's annoying, and pretty sad, isn't it?

We wish we had enough time to be a part of the world and part of God's plan. But, sometimes we have to make a choice. Sometimes we have to stop doings things we want to do so we can spend time with God and do things we need to do.

Side note: Obviously humans aren't perfect, so no matter how many times I remind you to spend time with God, you're probably not going to be able to maintain a really good routine. There might be days where you mean to spend time with God, but you just don't feel like it. That makes sense because we were born in a world full of distractions, but in the midst of all those distractions, there's a really satisfying peace to take away all our worries and doubts. If we just find some time for God, we'll be able to know what peace is really like.

So, for the days when you take one step forward for God, and take three steps back for the world, think about ways you could find time to step back up and jump in God's arms.

If you're having trouble thinking of ways where you can do that, maybe you should read over the list I've provided for you below...

WAYS TO SPEND TIME WITH GOD:

-reading the Bible

-memorizing some Bible verses

-writing verses on sticky notes or note cards and placing them around your area

-sitting in silence and talking to God

-going outside and looking up at the sky + talking to God

-reading a devotion

-making up your own way to Bible journal (if you need ideas you can check out my blog post about how I Bible journal: https://miribrooks1.wixsite.com/quoted/post/bible-journal-with-me----how-i-bible-journal )

-praying about those who need some encouragement, or who just need prayer

-read a plan on the Bible app

-write something to your friends on the Bible app to encouragement them with His Word

-journal, but as if you were talking to God about anything going on in your life

And there you have it! There are so many ways you can take that one extra step back into spending time with God. But, if you're still not feeling it, check out this awesome video by Mia Dinoto about spending time with God: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PnHICIeRib8
