Hey everyone and welcome back to my blog! It's been a little bit since I've written a blog. Last week I ended the Godsend series. I really enjoyed writing that series, and I hope that you came from reading that and listening to those twelve songs. But, if you haven't already read that series, you should: https://miribrooks1.wixsite.com/quoted/my-blog/categories/godsend-a-series
This week I wanted the blog to be all about music. As of now, I'm not sure if there will be a piano cover this week. I've been trying to decide what cover to post. (You'll know if there's a cover out already because you'll be reading this on Thursday, but...)
So, today's post is solely about music. Let's just get into it!!
On my phone right now, my wallpaper says, "Where words fail, music speaks." This is a quote by Hans Christian Anderson. I just love that quote. It's so short, sweet, and to the point. So, I thought that I might share some of my favorite songs with you.
A few weeks ago I did post a bonus podcast with some of my favorite songs, but it marked it as explicit on Spotify, and I haven't had a chance to fix that yet...so I haven't really announced that yet. That episode doesn't even have any bad words in it, so I'm not sure why they marked it explicit, but I will fix that. Anyway, here's some of my favorite songs at the moment because music is one of my new favorite things. I love concerts, and I love finding new music, as long as it has a positive meaning to it.
1. butterfly- Sody
I just recently started listening to Sody's music. (Her real name is Sophie.) I really love her music! There's one EP that this song is from called "real growth takes time," and I just really love that title. All the songs in it are just so beautiful, and I feel like they all have a really good meaning. I think that's really important when it comes to songwriting. You shouldn't write a song that doesn't mean anything. Well, it might be fun to do that every once in a while, but it's really important to me when I see songwriters writing songs with really good meanings.
Now, I think one of the main reasons I was drawn to this song was because it's called "butterfly." Butterflies are like my symbol of hope. Every time I see one it just makes me so happy and reminds me to never give up. When I see butterflies, I know that everything will be okay. Therefore, I love this song.
2. do all my friends hate me?- by Mckenna Grace
Mckenna Grace is my new inspiration. As soon as she came out with Haunted House, her very first song, I was obsessed. She's only fifteen, but I think she is just amazing. She's a great actress, and I'm glad she started coming out with original songs. And, I think a lot of people can relate to this song at times. We all feel alone, and sometimes we do feel like all of our friends are too busy for us, but this song is simply a reminder that we aren't alone, and there are people in our life that love us.
I can't wait for more music from Mckenna!!
3. Doppelgänger- Joshua Bassett
This song just came out last Friday, and it's...relatable? I don't know. I just really love it. It's beautiful.
4. Skinny Dipping- Sabrina Carpenter
I know you're probably thinking, what's the title of that song again? Well, I know it's an interesting title for a song. I promise you that this song is not inappropriate in any way.
To me, the meaning of this song is a girl feels like she just needs a break to relax. Or it could just be a love song about a girl going to a coffee shop and seeing a boy, and wanting to meet him again.
Okay, so I don't entirely know the true meaning of this song, but I really like it, and I promise I will figure out what it means. And I have a sweatshirt that is green and says "It'll Be A Wednesday" on it and I love it so much. Yeah, I love this song.
5. she's all i wanna be- Tate McRae
This song is a masterpiece. It's about something that everyone struggles with in some point of their life. Comparison.
I love this song, and I can't wait for Tate's new album, and I really hope I can go see her in person in October. That's all I have to write.
That was this blog post! I really hope you enjoyed seeing some of my favorite songs, and I hope you'll go check some of these out.
Thanks so much for reading!! Come back Saturday to see every book I read this month! ~Ella
