Hey there! Hope you're well today, and ready to get into a new and fun blog post!! Today I'm continuing the Godsend series that I started last week! If you haven't read last week's post yet, then click here: https://miribrooks1.wixsite.com/quoted/my-blog/categories/godsend-a-series
Also, at the end of the blog post listen to the song (by Riley Clemmons) that this blog was inspired by! Now let's just get into today's blog!
Before we begin, I wanted to share what Riley wrote about this song. I found this on genius, and I'll link where I found it here: https://genius.com/Riley-clemmons-keep-on-hoping-lyrics
"I knew that I wanted to write a song about hope; specifically, the hope that comes from God and what He promises. I wanted to write it as a reminder that there's a reason to keep on looking up, to keep heart, to keep on singing even in the hard days. There's a promise that God has got you. And I believe that's true." -Riley Clemmons via Jesus Freak Hideout
The reason why I love this song from Riley's album is because it's a reminder to keep on hoping. I know last week I wrote about the song Healer, and that song might seem similar to this one. I wrote a lot about remembering that through the hard times something good will always come out in the end, so this week I'm going to try to write something a little different than I did last week.
The pre-chorus of Keep On Hoping says, "With all those voices in your head, just don't, don't ever forget, that God's still good and He's still got it all in control."
I know for a fact that there are a lot of times in life where fear makes us forget that God is still in control. It could be someone in your family dying. It could be a robber coming into your house in the middle of the night. It could be the fear of not having enough money to support your family.
There are so many times when we have lost hope, but God promises us that no matter what He will be there for us and He will lift us back on our feet and help us keep going. He's knows our lives won't be easy, but He still promises us that He will help us no matter what, and He will be with us no matter what.
The words 'keep on hoping' are simply a reminder to do just that. They're a reminder not to give up, not to let fear take control, and not to stop doing what you're doing just because you feel alone and afraid.
Fear can try to take control of us, but we know deep in our hearts that we don't have a need to be afraid when we have God with us. He leads us where we need to go and He does not let us fall down.
Another lyric in the song says, "Lift your eyes, the One who gave you life will give you strength to keep on going, so keep on hoping."
God gives us strength every day to keep on going, so keep on hoping friend, and don't let the hard times give you fear or scare you because you have the strength to keep going, and you can do it! I believe in you!! ~Ella
