what if maybe every broken place I've been was a Godsend?

One thing I've learned is that life isn't easy. In the midst of the hardship, the pain, the hurting, life seems hopeless. But, I've also learned that there is hope when life seems hopeless. That there is a reason for every hardship, every pain, and all the hurting.

When I stumbled upon Riley Clemmons music on YouTube, Godsend was probably the first song I listened to. To this day it's my favorite song she's ever written.

I love Riley Clemmons music so much because it's so positive, and it holds such a good promise. Each song she has written holds a promise. Each song holds a reminder. I believe that each and every one of us just needs to hear her music.

Godsend is a reminder that even in the hard times, God is still working. Even in every broken place we have been in, they can be seen as a Godsend.

Do you ever just feel discouraged? Like you don't know what to do with yourself but sit there and cry? Like you don't know what you're supposed to do next? What do you do when you feel like that? Do you just sit there and cry? Or do you get up and have a dance party? Do you call your friends and ask them to hang out? Do you read a book and get out of your own life so you don't have to think about it anymore?

Whatever you do, wherever you go, I just wanted to write this to help you if you're feeling discouraged. One thing that really helps me when I'm feeling discouraged is music. I don't know what it is, but hands-down my favorite thing to do is get ready for bed and listen to music. I don't know the last time I didn't have music with me while I was in the shower. I listen to music every single day, just like I watch YouTube every day, and read every day. There are just some things that never get old. That you'd do a million times again and never get bored of. It's a honestly kind of a miracle I haven't gotten tired of listening to the SOUR album yet. I couldn't tell you how many times I've listened to it.

Anyway, getting off track...What if, instead of sitting there and crying when we are feeling discouraged, we just turned on some music and had a dance party? Or, even, sat down at a piano and wrote a song? Wouldn't that be a great way to deal with our feelings?

When the world tells us that drugs, smoking, and hate can make us feel better when we're discouraged, God tells us that His Word can help us. His Word can encourage us. What if maybe every broken place you've been was a Godsend and you didn't even know it? What if you just need to lean into God and hear Him for the first time in forever?

Wherever you are in this world today, hear me out...You can get through this. Next time you feel like you don't know where you're going next, like you're discouraged and heartbroken and dead inside, remember these words: "Every broken place you've been was a Godsend." ~Ella
