The Messengers: A Christmas Short Story (blogmas day five)

Chapter two:

"Oh! Parker, can you deliver these pizza’s to the...umm…” Jarrod, a guy that worked with me, looked through a bunch of messy papers on the table and handed me an address.

“The Braddon’s?” I asked, finishing his sentence.

“Yep. That was it. Sorry, I keep forgetting their name.”

I picked up four boxes of pizza and headed to the delivery car. “See ya!” I called behind me.

I pulled up to the driveway of the Braddon’s house and got the pizza’s out of the car. Claire and Kate Braddon were sister’s and they went to high school with me. Claire was a sophomore, and cheerleader, while Kate was a senior, same as me, with a love for reading.

I rang the doorbell and waited patiently. Kate opened the door, and I saw a hint of a blush when she saw that it was me.

“I didn’t know you worked for Star Pizza! That’s so cool!” she exclaimed as she grabbed the boxes from me, and gave me money. I was about to turn around and leave when she said something else. “Parker? I was wondering…” Kate stopped talking for a second, looking embarrassed, “if...you would like a tip?” She asked awkwardly, then handed me ten dollars.

I sensed that she had wanted to ask me something else, but I didn’t push further. All I said was, “Thanks, have a great night!”

“I will, and you too!” Kate said as I was walking away. She sounded a little too excited. I had a feeling that I had a secret admirer.
