June bugs and breezes (God is always with us)

Hey there & welcome back to Ella Writes! It's been a while since I've written a blog post, but I'm back for the summer to post a new blog every week. Every Tuesday a new encouraging post will come out! I'm also going to recommend a video, song, or podcast to go along with the post.
If you're new here, I started posting on The Quoted Blog, moved over to Ella Writes, then got caught up in writing books & posting podcasts every Thursday on The Quoted Podcast, that I forgot about this blog. So, it's time to go back to my roots. Enjoy! (:
A few days ago I went outside to let my dog in and give her a treat before going to bed. When I went outside, my dog was walking around the yard, not quite ready to come inside, so I walked around for a minute.
In my backyard, I have a pool, and one thing I always like to do at night time is save the June bugs that get stuck in the water. I've always loved saving June bugs from the pool, but I hadn't gone outside and done that in a while.
I grabbed a pole with a net to scoop up the bugs and headed over to the pool. One June bug was close to the edge, so it was easy to get. But when I tried to save another bug, I noticed that it was swimming in the middle of the pool, and my pole couldn't reach it.
This made me think about how God is there when we're 'floating in the middle of the pool.' When we're doubting Him the most, He's there waiting to comfort us, and waiting for us to run to Him. We could be sitting in the middle of hard trials, trying to figure out which way to go, and He's there. But when the breeze stirs the water in my pool, the June bugs get pushed further away from the edge. They're harder to get to, and my pole doesn't reach that far. We can compare that to real life. Satan likes to come in and steal our joy. He likes to pull us in one direction while God is standing there, speaking the truth and coaxing us to Him. God knows what we need. Everything we can gain from God is good, but the devil takes things away and leaves us with nothing.
I was fighting with the water to get to the June bug. I wanted to save it from its death. Jesus died for our sins to save us from death, but we continue to be pulled away from the truth, running away from God when things go bad, finding things in this world that might satisfy us in the moment, but won't be there forever.
When you're in a season of hurting and pain, or if you just feel like doubting God because of something you've gone through, remember the June bug. Remember the way the water pushed the June bug from one direction of the pool to the other, taking longer for it to find the edge, and find safety.
Find safety in God. Trust Him and don't run in the other direction. Don't let the breeze push you away from safety. Stop letting the devil get to you. Find your worth in God. Let His plan for your life be fulfilled, and remember that He is always there for you. He is waiting for you to follow Him.
