AI can't replace what God creates

Hi! Welcome back to Ella Writes!
If you're new here, I'm posting a new blog post every Tuesday in June & July. I hope these blogs encourage you & remind you who you are. (:
Recently a picture has been going around the internet of an ultrasound of a baby and what looks to be a hand holding his head. Amanda Foster, the mother of the baby, wrote on her Facebook that she had been praying over her child, and asked God to lay His hand on him.
Then, miraculously, a hand appeared in the ultrasound.
When I first saw an Instagram post about this, I immediately went to the comments because I was interested in seeing what everyone was saying. One comment caught my attention, and it is the reason why I felt like I needed to write this post.
Someone said, "Is it AI?"
I'm sure we all know by now that AI can do a lot of things. All you have to do is ask ChatGPT to create something, and you have a picture of the thing you wanted it to create. It doesn't mean the picture is going to look realistic or even accurate. But, it will create what you ask it to, even if it is not completely correct.
A lot of things that circulate around the internet that seem even remotely fake are often assumed to be AI. To me, that is scary. The second everyone starts thinking something is AI, I start to second guess if it is actually real.
In several ways, AI can be useful, but when it comes to creating things that might be unbelievable, or even look like something that has to do with God, it's important to remember this one thing. AI can not replace what God creates.
I was so alarmed by that comment on Instagram because this ultrasound is proof that God exists. To a lot of people, this ultrasound could be the reason why they start believing in God. To think that one comment about AI could deter someone from taking the ultrasound seriously is scary.
Usually, when I see an interesting and unbelievable picture on social media, for a split second I think it's real, then I see a comment saying it is AI. Once I know something is fake, I scroll past and never think about it again.
After reading that Instagram comment, I started to wonder if the ultrasound really was AI, or if it was fake. I started wondering that because sometimes it feels unfathomable to see something like the hand of God in a picture. That sounds crazy!
I believe in God enough to know that AI could never make an ultrasound look that real. I know that hand is God's and not a fake hand created by a computer.
But, to further prove my point, I asked ChatGPT to create an image of an ultrasound with the hand of God on the baby's head. If you click on my unlisted YouTube video link, you'll see a comparison of the picture ChatGPT generated, and the picture of the actual ultrasound.
Due to my storage space being full on my blog, I can't share the pictures here, but I uploaded an unlisted YouTube video to share the pictures I'm going to mention in this post: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AasTCXvxQRg
The picture from ChatGPT is not realistic at all. It hardly even looks like a real baby. The actual ultrasound is clearly a baby and even the hand on his head looks realistic.
It's easy to question what we find hard to believe, but it does not mean that it is AI. AI is incapable of doing anything that God does.
We can not let it replace God.
A lot of people jump to the conclusion, Christian or not, that something is AI just because it seems impossible. But, those people are forgetting that God is the God of impossible. Luke 18:27 says, "What is impossible with man is possible with God."
God talked to Moses through a burning bush (Exodus 3), He made a donkey speak (Numbers 22:21-39), He raised Lazarus from the dead (John 11:1-44).
Obviously, we do not have video or photo proof of those things happening, but God has done so much more than that, both back then and today.
Here are some stories of miracles: https://www.pureflix.com/insider/modern-day-miracles
As you navigate this world filled with AI, remember that God still does miracles. Not everything is fake. Don't let the world mask what God is still doing today.
Have discernment, and don't discredit God with AI.
Thanks for checking out this week's blog post! Highly recommend checking out the rest of my website because I just updated a few things! (;
Come back next Tuesday for a new post! ~Ella
