Hey everybody! How are you doing? I always feel like it's been such a long time since I've written a blog post. Today, I just wanted to take a couple minutes to write about how Jesus laid his life down for us. He died for us, and we owe so much to him.
1 John 3:16 says, "By this we know love, that he laid down his life for us, and we ought to lay down our lives for the brothers."
One time, I went to eat lunch at a restaurant with my Meemaw, and on our way out we met a man and a woman in a wheelchair. They were homeless, and the man asked us if we had any money to give them. We kindly declined, saying we didn't have anything to give them, and began to drive away. Before we had made it out of the parking lot, I remembered that we had brought out leftovers from the restaurant. I asked my Meemaw if we could go back and give our leftovers to the homeless man and woman.
Sometimes we are confronted by a situation similar to the one I just described. Maybe we see a homeless man or woman on the side of the road, but doubt they are actually homeless because they are dressed in nice clothing, or have a cell phone. Or maybe we go through a situation where we feel as if we need to do something for someone, but don't trust they will use what we give them wisely.
Jesus laid his life down for us, and we are called to lay our lives down for him.
I watched the movie I'm Not Ashamed last year, and it really made an impact on me. It's about Rachel Joy Scott, and the story of the Columbine shooting that occurred in 1999. That movie was sad, but also had a meaning behind it that made me thoughtful.
Anyway, a very important quote from that movie was, "Jesus gave his life for me, and I'll give my life to him."
It's a very scary topic sometimes to think about dying for Jesus, but when it comes to it, it's important to think about. I wrote about this in my book, which is coming soon, and yeah. Take a minute to think about it, but don't dwell on it. God always understands. Also, it's not happy to dwell over death, so I'm not trying to make you go think about dying for Jesus in depth like that.
So, the main point I'm trying to make here is that it never hurts to be kind. LOL. Be kind to others, and treat others the way you would want to be treated. Be an example of Jesus. Forgive others, and live your life for Jesus.
"Greater love has no one than this, that someone lay down his life for his friends." -John 15:13
That's all for today's blog post! Always live your life for Jesus! ~Ella
