"I hate you!" Emilia yelled as she ran to the bus. As soon as she had said the words, she had slightly regretted them, but she reminded herself that her Mom had forbidden her from going to a birthday party that weekend, and she immediately was glad she had told the truth. She did hate her Mom for not letting her go to the birthday party. At the same time, Emilia knew there would be consequences for what she had said, but she couldn't say that she cared.
A couple hours later, Emilia was walking to the bus, but noticed it was gone, and in its place was her Grandmother's car. Why was her Grandmother picking her up when she usually rode the bus?
"You missed the bus, and your Dad wanted me to pick you up. We need to go up to the hospital and visit your Mom," Grandmother said, opening Emilia's door for her.
"Huh?! What do you mean? Why is Mom at the hospital? What happened?!" Emilia asked, suddenly worried.
"She was in a car accident. The doctor's said she will be okay. She is supposed to spend one night at the hospital so they can make sure everything is alright."
Once they made it to the hospital, Emilia ran into the room her Mom was in, and gave her a big, but gentle hug. "I'm so sorry for what I said earlier! I don't hate you Mom! Are you okay?"
Challenge of the day: Don't leave sharp or bitter words hanging between you and your family, or friends. Try to only say kind words, and remind your family why you love them. Don't tell them that you hate them! Also, respect your parents. They are doing so much for you, and you should always respect them.
