Today I wanted to share something I wrote in my book. Yes, I'm still working on my book, and I don't know if I have already written this before, but my goal is to complete it by the end of the year. Anyway, here's what I wrote:
October thirteenth: When The Voices Take Over
“A thief comes to steal and to kill and to destroy; I have come so that they may have life and have it in abundance.” -John 10:10
You're nothing. You’re stupid. You're ugly. You don’t deserve to live. You’re fat. Nothing you do means anything. You can’t do anything. Don’t listen to God. Listen to me because I know what’s better for you. I’m better for you.
Words really do hurt, and when someone is trying to bring you down, they often will use words to do so. This reminds me of when Satan told Eve she could eat the fruit. Satan tempted Eve to listen only to him, and not to God because apparently God didn’t know what Eve really needed. Apparently God didn’t care about Eve, and then Eve used those words to get Adam to eat of the fruit.
When I look at the world today, whether it’s on the news, at school, or somewhere else, I see sin. I see lots and lots of sin. What I don’t understand is why some people decide that God is not real, and they don’t want to believe in Him. Do people decide that because they are lazy? Or does some past thing in their life make them stop, and wonder if God is really real? Have you ever stopped and wondered if God is really real? Even though we might not have seen God in real life, we can still see Him through the world. I’m not pointing towards the fact that God can be found through sin, but I’m trying to point out that God can be found through creation itself. From the flowers, grass, leaves, bugs, trees, birds, clouds, sky. The list goes on and on. God can be found everywhere. It’s whether you choose to believe that God is real that matters though. Life is all about good versus evil. That’s how we can sum life up. Good versus evil. Good versus evil…
CHALLENGE OF THE DAY:
So which side are you on?
I kind of stopped writing about words hurting halfway through and started writing about life, but I like this entry anyway. I hope you do. Anyway, stay tuned for my book... ~Ella
