movies you need to watch this summer! 🌞

Happy summer!! One of my favorite things to do during the summer is to find new shows and movies to watch. A few years ago Legacies and The Vampire Diaries were my go-to shows that I binged throughout the whole summer. That was so much fun, and I really want to find some good things to watch this summer!

Anyway, I thought it would be fun to share some of my favorite movies that you need to watch this summer!! These are all going to be family-friendly because I'm honestly tired of all the movies being made today. They just don't compare to the cute teen movies that I love.

SO, please go check out these movies! Let's get into today's blog post!

1. Jessica Darling's It List

We're starting off strong with Jessica Darling's It List. This movie is actually based on a book trilogy by Megan McCafferty. I haven't read the books yet, but I would really like to one day.

Either way, you have to watch this movie!! It's a feel-good movie with some great overall themes!!

I've watched it about three times by now because I just love it that much. It follows a girl going into junior high school. Jessica's sister gives her this list of things to do to have the best first year in junior high. The movie follows Jessica as she attempts to follow along with her sisters It List, and what happens while doing that.

It's really cute and I highly recommend it! I feel like it's a movie I could re-watch over and over and never get bored of.

2. The Kissing Booth (1,2, & 3)

I watched The Kissing Booth for the first time last year, and I quickly binged all the movies.

For a while, I heard a lot about this movie, but never watched it. And then when I finally watched it I realized why everyone talked so much about it.

All three movies are really good, and I definitely want to re-watch them soon!!

3. Jesus Revolution

Joel Courtney, who plays Lee in The Kissing Booth, also plays Greg in this movie. And, Anne Wilson's song Living Water is in the credits.

Soo...I mean. You should watch it.

I seriously love this movie!! It's really heartwarming to see so many people united for Jesus. I truly think everyone needs to watch this movie. What are you waiting for? Go watch it!!

4. Crater

If you have no idea, my favorite actress of all time is Mckenna Grace. I love keeping up with all the things she acts in.

My favorite movie with Mckenna Grace is 100% Gifted, but I also love The Bad Seed Returns. Some other amazing movies she is in are Troop Zero, Ghostbusters Afterlife, and of course, Crater.

Crater just came out on Disney + in May, and it's such a good movie! It follows a group of kids that live on the moon. The movie was actually filmed in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, which is super fun because I live in Louisiana!

I love this movie because it just shows some kids having a cool little adventure in space! And the ending is really interesting. I love it so much, and I think you need to go watch it!!

5. Mean Girls

I really don't think I will ever stop recommending this movie.

For the longest time, I kept hearing people talk about how amazing Mean Girls is, and just like The Kissing Booth, I never watched it.

Until last year. I finally watched Mean Girls. And let's just say, I love it.

When I watch movies, I'm always looking for that theme, and this movie has the best theme that just made the whole movie. And, also, Lindsay Lohan. Period. I love anything Lindsay Lohan is in. She's in so many good teen movies that I could recommend!! A few others she's in that I love are obviously The Parent Trap, Freaky Friday, Just My Luck, Confessions of a Teenage Drama Queen, Get a Clue, and there's also Life Size, which I haven't seen yet, but it looks cool.

Yeah, overall I just love this movie.

Those are going to be all the movies I share in today's blog post! I do want to give some honorable mentions though: Tall Girl, All Together Now, A Week Away, To All The Boys I've Loved Before, The School for Good and Evil, Work It, Sierra Burgess is a Loser, and The Duff.

That's going to conclude today's blog post! Thanks for checking it out! ~Ella
